Biotrue Eye Care Recycling

We’ve teamed up with TerraCycle® to sponsor a new program that responsibly processes the small components of plastic waste created by our contact lens care and eye care routines.

Did you know that smaller plastics like the caps of your eye drop bottles, contact lens cases and contact lens solution bottle caps are often not recyclable?

We set out to help with that.

What should you recycle?
What should you TerraCycle®?

TerraCycle

The bottle cap can get lost in the sorting at recycling facilities because it’s so small, meaning it can still end up in landfills. So, send them to us at TerraCycle instead.

Recyclable

This bottle is big enough for standard recycling facilities to sort. So go ahead and throw it into your recycling at home!

Recyclable

You can put the box in your curbside recycling! Easy peasy.

TerraCycle

Your contact case is made up of smaller plastic parts, which end up being too small to recycle. That’s why TerraCycle is the way to go for these!

TerraCycle

The bottle is actually too small for many facilities to recycle too! It’s best to send it TerraCycle to ensure it’s processed properly.

TerraCycle

These plastic vials and their caps are far too small to be sorted by automated recycling facilities. So they usually end up in landfills even if you try to recycle them. But with TerraCycle, we make sure that doesn’t happen!

TerraCycle Tips

Here are Some Terracycle Tips!

Stock up before you ship out.

Find a place to stash these TerraCycle items. Then, when you fill that container or space, pack the items up and ship ‘em to us. That way, you make fewer trips to the post office and make the most out of the shipping process.

Collect from
family & friends.

Again, make your TerraCycle shipment really count! Don’t just round up all of the used contact cases and solution/drop caps in your house. Ask your neighbors, family, friends to give you theirs too. Make it a routine!

Set up collection in your building or dorm.

Same strategy as above, but with more people! Just work with any management to make sure it’s okay to put out a collection box. Then, when it gets full, you can empty it and send us the materials. Then, keep the TerraCycle cycle going.
